Samsung Galaxy S5 Review - Draft

Overview

Samsung’s new glamorous design for the Galaxy S5 has got everyone talking. People are even obsessed with the packaging design. The all new Galaxy S5 is designed just for you. It comes with the defaults but you get to make it just the way you like it. Whether you have kids, are single and wild, or just your average joe there is a way to make your phone, yours.

Wet and Wild

The Galaxy S5 is designed so that it is water resistant up to 1 meter deep and also keeps the dust out. With the charge port latched shut tight, and the back cover clicks shut tightly as well, there is no water getting into the hardware of the sleek phone. So go ahead, I dare you to leave the phone on the table at lunchThis  or if you are feeling like a daredevil, leave it on the bar. It won’t ruin a thing!

Photoshoot, Without the Expensive Camera

This phone comes with a built in 16 megapixel camera. If it doesn’t get any better then that...I don’t know how it can. The camera comes with a lot of awesome new features like filters and it even has a “Beauty Face” mode that gets rid of blemishes when you take the photograph. How awesome is that! The camera takes amazing pictures everywhere you go, the only downside of it is that it does not function super well in low light.

Design

With a new 5.1 inch display, the screen is big, but not too big. You can comfortably play games, text, watch Netflix, and surf the web on this 1080p Full HD Super AMOLED (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) screen display. They chose to put plastic on the back of the phone again but they are giving plastic a whole new name. It may look cheap and poorly made, but it just goes along with their water resistant characteristic and it is actually really good plastic. There are three buttons on the front of the phone and then one on each side. There is the physical home button which is also the fingerprint scanner on the front and then there are two sensor buttons on either side of it. Then the lock and sound buttons are on the sides of the phone. The only thing I think that people have a hard time with is handling the phone with one hand. It is a large phone to handle with one hand but it is manageable.

Speedy Gonzales

This phone processes faster then ever. The Galaxy S5 is on the list for the one of the fastest smartphones ever. The Galaxy S5 features 2GB of RAM and either 16 or 32GB of storage. It also comes with 4G LTE for maximum connection speed. The Galaxy S3 and S4 both had problems with slowness and AMOLED  screen problems, and the GS5 overcame those issues, but it can still be even better.

Gotta Have It (Software)

The Galaxy S5 have some amazing new applications that can come in handy even when you would not think they would. Some of these new features are:
Smart Remote: Control your TV and cable box, and view live TV listings.
Translator: Samsung's first-party translation app.
Glove Mode: Increases touch sensitivity to make the touchscreen usable when wearing gloves.
Baby Crying Detector: Lets you use your Galaxy S5 like a baby monitor when paired with a Gear smartwatch.
Blocking Mode: Samsung's "do not disturb" option, letting you block some (or all) calls or notifications between specific times.
Private Mode: Lets you lock away private (ahem) photos and other stuff behind a password or fingerprint lock.
Easy Mode: Makes the home screen and other Samsung apps simpler, with larger text and fewer options.
One-Handed Operation: Lets you shrink the screen into a smaller window by using a swiping gesture.
Multi-Window: Allows more than one app to be run on-screen at a time, through a split-screen view.
Power Saving Mode: Puts the phone into a super-low-power state and limits the apps you can use to save battery power.
Toolbox: A floating menu giving you access to five favorite apps at any time.

Battery Life

Behind the water-resistant back panel of the Galaxy S5 is a 2,800mAh removable battery. Not only is it a lot of power to last you throughout the day, if it is going to be an extra long day where you need to use your phone to take awesome photos with, it is a lot easier to take out the battery and either swap it for a new one, charged one, or remove it and charge it with a wireless charger. The actual usage time is about 13-14 hours on WiFi or LTE with 3-4 hours of on screen time as well. That is a ton of time!! Where else can you find that is a smart phone?! And on the Ultra-Power Saving Mode you get EVEN MORE time then that!!
